Welcome to Cwm Rhondda!
Côr Meibion Cwm Rhondda is a Welsh Male Choir of thirty voices. The choir was
formed in 1999 from experienced choristers who were looking for a change in
direction musically. The choir, under their conductor and accompanist Neil
Topping, B.A. (Hons), very quickly established itself on the music scene in
Wales and England owing to its diversity of repertoire, which includes
arrangements of popular songs and excerpts from musical shows, whilst not
neglecting the traditional Welsh Male Voice Choir items.
Since its formation, the choir has performed in over 110 concerts, including
three concert tours abroad to Naves and Civray in France and to Wolfenbüttel in
Germany. It has appeared with many artistes and musicians, including Max Boyce,
Peter Karrie and Shân Cothi.
The majority of concerts performed by the choir are in aid of local and national
charities and the choir has helped raise thousands of pounds for such charities
as The Red Cross, The RNLI, Tŷ Hafan, Cancer Research, Macmillan Nurses, Stem
Cell Research, Y Bwthyn Hospice, Meningitis Research, Help the Aged and many
more.
Neil Topping is an accomplished pianist, organist and Musical Director. Having
trained under the acclaimed Joan Arwyn Evans, he is proud to have been resident
MD of Côr Meibion Cwm Rhondda since its formation in 1999. Undertaking the dual
role of Conductor and Accompanist, Neil has travelled extensively with the choir
to numerous engagements both in the United Kingdom and abroad. He is also proud
to be a founder member and resident MD for Premiere Productions.

The choir rehearses every Wednesday evening 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. at Ton Pentre Junior School in the Rhondda. New choristers are always welcome.
